πΒ Bible Text
βFor to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow His steps. He committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth.β
β 1 Peter 2:21β22

β¨Β Devotional
Jesus didnβt seek perfect people, but those willing to learn, to fall, and yet to keep going.
In His footsteps. In real life.
With dust on their feet β not with shine in the spotlight.
Just like Joshua.
Joshua was 16 β athletic, popular, active on social media. Yet inside, he had grown tired.
Not physically β but emotionally. Always needing to please. Always trying to keep up. Always trying to seem stronger, cooler, smarter than he really was.
Then, in religious studies class, his teacher read 1 Peter 2:21β22.
And said a line that stuck with him:
βJesus left a life you can follow. Not to imitate perfectly β but to live honestly, bravely, differently. In the dust, not in the applause.β
Especially this part wouldnβt let him go:
βNo deceit in His mouth.β
He remembered how a few days earlier he had lied to a friendβs face β just to seem cool.
And it had weighed on him.
βChrist has given us an example through His perfect life, so that by His grace we may strive each day to this standard.β
β Ellen White, The Desire of Ages, p. 24
That evening, Joshua prayed.
Not with polished words β but honestly:
βLord, I donβt want to run along with the crowd anymore. I want to walk with You. Show me how β in Your path.β
Following Christ does not mean being perfect.
It means walking in Jesusβ footsteps, even when they lead through dusty roads:
Through conflicts in the family.
Through pressure at school.
Through temptation in everyday life.
βTrue discipleship means walking in the Masterβs footsteps β in self-denial, patience, and love.β
β Ellen White, Education, p. 271
Jesus didnβt walk on clouds β
He walked through dust.
And He calls you there too.
Not into religious stress β
But into a life that is real.

π§ Β For Reflection
β’ Am I truly walking in Jesusβ footsteps β or in the tracks of likes, trends, and expectations?
β’ Is there an area in my life where I need the courage to act like Jesus β with clarity, love, and authenticity?

π Prayer:
Lord, I want to walk in Your footsteps.
Help me not to be perfect β but to be genuine.
Give me strength to stand where You stood:
With love, patience, and truth.
Amen.
