📖 Bible Text

“Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: ‘Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: Whoever believes will not be in haste.’”
– Isaiah 28:16

✨ Introduction

What is your life built on?
When everything starts to shake—friends, plans, your self‐image—what remains?
God says through Isaiah:

“I lay a foundation stone—tested, precious, supportive.”

That foundation stone is Jesus.
Not only your Savior, but your bedrock when everything else fails.

“Jesus is the only sure foundation.
All who build on Him will stand firm in the time of trial.”
— Ellen White, The Desire of Ages, p. 599

👟 Story: Tim & the Pressure

Tim, 18. Athletic, popular, successful. From the outside everything looked perfect—
but inside: thin ice.
Pressure from school, training, parents’ expectations.
Then: a breakdown during a competition.

In rehab, a counselor asks him:

“What’s left when everything collapses?”

Tim has no answer.

The counselor reads Isaiah 28:16:

“God lays a solid foundation stone—Jesus. Whoever trusts in Him stands.”

Tim starts to think.
He realizes: what was supposed to hold him up—approval, likes, performance—wasn’t holding him at all.
He decides:
No more show. No more masks. A real foundation.

“When we build our lives on Christ, it will stand through the storm.
No storm can destroy the house built on the rock.”
— Ellen White, Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 151

⸝

🌱 What Does This Mean for You?

Jesus never promised there would be no crises—
but that you don’t have to run away when they come.

You are not called to be perfect.
You are called to stand—on Him.

“God’s truth is a solid foundation.
Whoever builds on it will not be shaken.”
— Ellen White, Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 54

🧠 Questions for Reflection

• What is my true foundation?
• Am I building on Christ—or only on what others say about me?
• Where do I run instead of standing?

⸝

🙏 Prayer

Lord, I no longer want to build on sand.
I want to stand on You—the rock that remains.
When things inside me shake, give me steadiness in You.
Show me what genuine faith looks like—
not religious, but honest and deep.
Amen.
